Keith Martin is a medical researcher specialising in the treatment of glaucoma. He is the first professor of ophthalmology at the University of Cambridge where, in 2013, his team tested a novel technique of bio-printing, using an ink jet to recreate layers of ganglion and glial cells from a rat's retina. ==Early life and education== He attended The Royal School, Armagh from 1980 to 1987 and was the head boy in his final year. He then read medical science and neuroscience at St Catharine's College, Cambridge graduating with first class honours in three subjects.〔 He qualified as a medical doctor at Oxford University in 1993 and then researched at institutions in the USA and UK including the Institute of Ophthalmology, Moorfields Eye Hospital and the Wilmer Eye Institute.〔
